Terms of use
Last updated 14 October 2026
These terms cover the use of Scanowait: by restaurants and hotels (“the restaurant”) and their staff, and by guests ordering through it. By using Scanowait you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how information is handled.
For guests
- Your order is with the restaurant, not with Scanowait. The restaurant sets the menu, the prices, the taxes and charges shown before you order, and is responsible for the food and service.
- Prices and availability can change. What you see when you place an order is what you are charged, plus anything the restaurant adds to the bill with your agreement.
- Refunds and complaints about an order are for the restaurant to settle.
- Do not use the service to place false orders or to interfere with how it works.
For restaurants
- You are responsible for your menu, prices, taxes and the GST details printed on your bills, and for keeping the records the law asks you to keep.
- You decide who on your staff can do what, and you are responsible for what is done with your staff’s logins. Keep passwords and PINs private.
- You may only use guests’ numbers for what they gave them for, and may only send offers to guests who asked for them.
- Fees are as agreed with Scanowait: a platform fee on orders, or a fixed membership. If a membership lapses, ordering may be paused until it is renewed.
- Your business data stays yours. You can ask for a copy of it.
The service
We work to keep Scanowait running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted, for example by internet or provider outages. Keep a way to take orders and payments by hand for such times.
As far as the law allows, Scanowait is not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit, arising from the use of the service or from it being unavailable.
Changes
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top.
